Add Breaches now to a dashboard

Put the Breaches now widget on a Lightning dashboard you own, so each person who opens it sees their open records past their goal.

Salesforce admin or dashboard author About 5 minutes Since sprint 13

Breaches now is a widget for Lightning dashboards. It lists one Tracked object's open Intervals in Breach, the longest past its goal first, and, if you choose, the open Intervals At risk: those that reached their goal's warn percent. Each row links to the record, where the timeline is. Sojourn's four packaged dashboards do not carry it; you add it to a dashboard of your own, such as a copy of SLA Health.

What it shows#

  • Breaches. Each row is one open Interval past its goal: the record, its value, its owner, and how long it is past the goal in business hours, as the timeline counts it. A Coral mark starts each row. The line under the title counts them, as in "Case · 3 open past their goal".
  • At risk. With Show at risk on, a second group lists open Intervals that reached their warn percent but are not yet in Breach, with how much of the goal they have used, as in "85% of goal". A Lantern mark starts each row.
  • Live, with its own Refresh. The widget reads the Intervals when the dashboard opens. The dashboard's Refresh does not reach it, so it has its own Refresh button and its own "As of" time.
  • Flags from Live values. Sojourn marks an open Interval in Breach or At risk on each Live values run, so a stay that just passed its goal shows after the next run. See Run the jobs.

Who can add it#

You need Run Reports and Create and Customize Dashboards in Salesforce. To pick a Tracked object you also need a Sojourn permission set that reads the Sojourn configuration: Sojourn Admin, Sojourn Manager, or Sojourn Health Monitor. Sojourn User alone does not; see Assign permission sets.

Add it#

  1. Open a Lightning dashboard you own and select Edit.
  2. Select + Widget, then Lightning Web Component, then Breaches now.
  3. Set its properties, then select Add and Save.
Property What it does
Tracked object The Tracked object whose open Intervals the widget lists. The list holds your active Tracked objects.
Rows How many Breaches to show, from 1 to 20, the longest past its goal first. The default is 5.
Show at risk Also lists open Intervals that reached their goal's warn percent (Warning), with the same Rows limit.

Often missed. The Tracked object list is read as you, the dashboard's author: without one of those permission sets it is empty. The editor shows at most 200 values.

Each viewer sees their own records#

The widget always runs as the person viewing the dashboard, whatever the dashboard's running user. It lists only records that person can open, and it needs the Sojourn Timeline permission, which the Sojourn User, Manager, Health Monitor, and Admin permission sets include. The dashboard's other widgets show the data of its running user, so the two can count differently on the same dashboard. The widget also ignores the dashboard's filters.

What Salesforce does not support#

  • One custom component per dashboard. A Lightning dashboard holds at most one Lightning web component widget, so Breaches now takes that place.
  • View Dashboard As. Salesforce does not support View Dashboard As on a dashboard that holds a Lightning web component.
  • Subscription emails. Salesforce leaves Lightning web component widgets out of dashboard subscription emails.

When the widget is empty#

The widget says What to do
No open Case is past its goal Nothing to act on. Rows appear when an open stay passes its goal and Live values next runs.
You need the Sojourn Timeline permission to see Breaches Assign the viewer a Sojourn permission set that includes it.
Choose a Tracked object for this widget in the dashboard editor Edit the dashboard and choose a Tracked object. An object no longer tracked shows this too.

You are done when

  • The dashboard shows Breaches now with its Refresh button and "As of" time.
  • A viewer with the Sojourn User permission set sees the open records they can open that are past their goal, each linked to its record.
